While my mom had a work trip in Washington D.C. I tagged along and spent a few days exploring the various Smithsonian museums and institutions. Though I didn't get many good photographs I was told to contribute to the blog. At the risk of losing friendship status with our devoted fans, I've taken it upon myself to issue a comprehensive view of our short trip. Enjoy an iPhone's view of our nation's capital. The National Gallery. A special exhibit on the origins of Impressionism was informative with some lovely paintings. I prefer landscapes and city views and stray from portraits. National Museum of Natural History. It's no secret that I am a massive enthusiast of the American Museum of Natural History and consider it the definitive fossil viewing experience. But the National Museum did have some cool specimens I'd never seen before such as this Sinosauropteryx. The preservation quality is phenomenal here. I'm back!! My first couple weeks have so far been filled with the first days of classes, cooking with friends, prepping for work (I go back to the school on the 13th! So excited!!,) absolutely committing to decorating my dorm room, and only calling my mom in a panic that one time. It's lovely to be back at St. Lawrence and transported into fall weather, watching the leaves turn and wearing sweaters again.
