Max and Esme

Following tradition, Esme celebrated her birthday away from home during our family vacation week. The cheesecake was good, but not as lovely as the girl herself. Our beautiful 13 year old becomes a more amazing person every single day. How lucky are we?

We spent a hot summer week in Maine with friends from the UK, hiking and biking and playing in the cold water.  The Girard family climbed 8 peaks, including Sargeant and Penobscot, scrambling over rocks and scavenging for blueberries. Max and Peter also did a 30+ mile bike ride along the carriage trails.  It was hotter than usual in Acadia, but still one of the most beautiful places on earth.
