Playdate invitation

Esme has been mentioning Carah frequently since our visit to North Carolina. She talks about what they played with together and will randomly insert an "I miss Carah" statement into her other conversations. Esme already has plans to show Carah her baby dolls and her big-girl doll and her dress up clothes and would like Carah to come visit us this weekend. So if you don't have plans on Saturday Carah - hop on a plane and come to New York!

Winter break

The kids and I traveled to North Carolina during school break for an extended playdate with our cousins. It was lovely to see all my cousins in one go - the Gilmores and the Steeles. And Max and Esme had a great time with the next generation of Gilmores, McMahons and Steeles. The travel went smoothly, the weather was good, and the hospitality was excellent - thanks for a relaxing vacation. When we landed home at LGA Esme asked when we were taking our next plane trip - I guess we'll have to plan another one soon. I didn't bring a camera with me, but I expect Ryan will post a few shots over the next couple of days http://thehappygilmores.blogspot.com/ . Here's one of two happy girls.

Glowing review

I attended a parent/teacher meeting for Esme this morning and was told that she's a joy to have in class. She knows what she's supposed to, has a fabulous vocabulary, is independent and confident, displays affection and plays well with everyone. The teacher did ask me if Esme dresses herself - the occassional odd color combinations had been noticed!
