Portraits

Finally getting around to pulling some things off my camera. Here are portraits of Max and Esme enjoying their first class airplane seats on the way to North Carolina during April break.  Don't get used to it kids!

Lets Go Green!

Image
Esme began her soccer season two weeks ago, playing for the dark green team. Her age group plays at 8am on Saturday mornings, so she's been very thankful for the hip pink wind pants that her cousin Carah gave her.  Esme was fierce in goal last weekend, stopping multiple attempts before letting a hard kick through. I didn't manage a real action shot because I was too busy cheering (and ok, maybe shouting some instructions from the side line), but here's our number 7 on the field.

I Am From...

...a poem by Max Girard I am from a neighborhood where kids play outside no matter what the weather is. I am from a mom and dad who take me to the city. I am from a family that cooks many different foods. I am from a school that I have many friends inside. I am from 2 fish and 2 frogs. I am from playing soccer outside. I am from vacations in Massachusetts. I am from Indian foods that are super spicy. I am from Christmas vacation. I am from a Monopoly playing family. I am from reading very long and difficult books. I am from paleontology and the tree of the order saurisuchia.

A base hit

Image
Max had his first Little League game of the season on Saturday.  The Scrappers were surprisingly fun to watch.  Max made it to base each time he was up and threw a man out at first while fielding at the pitcher's mound (they use a ball machine to actually pitch).  Max's batting efforts were generally supported by poor fielding and fast running, but here's an action shot of our number 6 making a solid base hit to third. The baseball game was bookended by Esme's soccer practice in the morning, and Max's soccer practice in the afternoon.  That'll be our Saturday schedule for the next seven weeks. Sundays will be for sleeping!
