Home again

We picked the kids up at South Lake this weekend after their week with Grandma and Grandpa. While we received a very excited welcome from them both, I expect they hadn't actually thought about us until we showed up. At bedtime last night Esme told me how she missed Grandma and Grandpa and illustrated it with her hands: it was just a little bit when we got in the car to leave (a thumb and finger distance), a little bit more when we reached home (two hands a foot apart), and a lot at bedtime (a full arms reach!) Thanks Mom and Dad for such a great time!

Our beautiful four year old princess celebrated her special day with family and was especially pleased that her fairy cousin Greta could join her.

It smells like what?

Twice in the past few days we've cleaned the bathroom using products containing bleach. The first time because Esme had a 12 hour stomache bug that resulted in some seriously messy floors. (Turns out blueberries result in a shockingly magenta colored vomit.) The second time as part of a usual cleaning of shower tiles and grout. I didn't think the chlorine smell was particularly strong, but Esme immediately noticed and declared that the room smelled like the pool at the Y.
