Boating Max and Peter have been spending some time each weekend on the boat together. Max is becoming more interested in fishing (although we never keep one) and he and his dad have been tracking the elusive Sand Tiger Shark and the ugly Sea Robin in Long Island Sound. Here are some pictures of the kids from a recent boat ride with Grandma and Grandpa. Yes, that is Max steering the boat in the harbor!

Sharing Although they sometimes squabble like any good siblings, it pleases me that Max and Esme generally get along so well and are happy to make up games and play together. Here are two photos that Grandpa took last week. Anyone with kids knows that stickers are immensely popular. The huge puddle in the neighbor's driveway is a new source of facination, Max pretends it's the sea and tries to float sticks and leafs across it, Esme prefers to throw stones into it. The puddle is dry this week so the kids are sad, but their shoes are cleaner. (I'm not sure why these picture's are so small from the Kodak share site - will look into that and see if I can fix it.)

Last day of Kindergarten Yesterday was Max's last day of school. I took the day off and we celebrated with a mother/son trip to the aquarium. We got to see a white alligator (one of only 44 in the world) and an IMAX film about prehistoric sea creatures. Here's a picture of my (not so) little boy.

Finally! Here's a slide show highlight the last month or so - includes the ferry to Nantucket, Max in his cricket legs for the school play (all my on-stage pictures turned out blurry!), Esme and her new friends at the Swenson carp derby, a trip to Playland with the cousins, and the kids playing "ocean" in Max's closet. Enjoy.
Will she ever post another picture??? Good question. Probably. But not today. Lots of things have happened in the last month. Work has been crazy busy for both of us. We had a lovely visit with Grandma Sissy and Grandpere on rainy Nantucket. Esme's preschool class had a musical performance for us lucky parents. Max has started soccer practice,. Swim. Playdates. Birthday parties. You get the idea. This weekend we're off to Seneca Falls to visit with friends. I'll try to remember the camera...
Charmer Another Esme moment... Esme is behaving badly and has been reprimanded. So she climbs up onto Peter's lap, looks him in the face, and pointing at the frown lines between his eyebrows says "Daddy, what's that?" Peter explains that he's scowling because he is not happy with her behavior. Esme says "I'll give it a kiss Daddy, and then you'll feel better." Clever, clever girl...
